Belize Snapshot: Caye Caulker Go Slow

Ferry Terminal – Caye Caulker, Belize

Belizeans love to take things slow, but I believe Belizeans from Caye Caulker take the “slow living” very seriously.

When you arrive at Caye Caulker by ferry, this is the “welcome mat” at the end of the pier that greets you to this small island, located about 20 miles from Belize City.Caye Caulker, Belize

While it looks like a nice slogan, you need to know that this slogan is not just a suggestion; it is a way of life.

Caye Caulker has a very laid-back environment (too laid-back in some cases) where everything goes slow and there’s no rush for anything. Seriously, being here feels like time does go slow and worries just disappear in an instant.  It’s like life simplifies itself in a second.

Oh, and another thing… you can be late to anything without being late… which is good!

Maybe this is why I love Caye Caulker so much?
