Weekly Snapshot: Tikal Spider Monkey

Spider Monkey – Tikal National Park, Guatemala

I’m crazy about monkeys.  In fact, my ICQ nickname (remember that?) used to be Spider Monkey.  So, naturally, I did my best to photograph every single monkey I had the chance to.  And believe me, Guatemala is FULL of monkeys, so I have over 100 monkey shots!  Ha!  This one is a Spider Monkey hanging (posing for me!) at one of the trees at Tikal National Park, one of the largest archaeological sites and urban centers of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization.

Doesn’t he look cute?

I love monkies too. The action in these photos is awesome. We saw a few monkies when we were in Mexico- super cute and playful.

Thanks! Yes, I love how playful most of them can be. I’ve noticed most countries in central america are full of monkey! Love it!
