Jumeirah Mosque – Dubai, United Arab Emirates
The Jumeirah Mosque is a mosque currently in use in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Not only it is a functioning mosque, but it is also a major landmark due to its distinctive Islamic architecture that is based on the Fatimid style (symmetrical and with systematic ornaments in the minarets and cupola), it’s impressive size that can accommodate up to 1,300 people, and the fact that it is one of three mosques in the UAE that allows non-Muslims to enter (the other two being: Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque in Al Safa, Dubai, and Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi).
Jumeirah Mosque, built in 1975, is one of the few remaining structures that has survived intact the crazy-construction-boom that started in the 1990’s.
It is said that Jumeirah Mosque, also known as “the two minaret mosque”, is the most photographed mosque in Dubai.
For anyone interested in visiting the mosque, it is only possible under a guided tour that costs 10 Dirhams, and lasts about 75 minutes. The tours runs every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 10:00am.
The intention behind the tour is to promote cultural understanding and give a first-hand experience as an insight to the Islamic religion and Emirati culture.

Ooo, very pretty! The yellow flowers outside really make it seem cheery.
Oh yes! It looks like spring is blooming there! Even though it is still “winter”. It’s a good garden that brings some color to the mosque’s environment.
Beautiful shot!
Thanks Andi!
