How to Nail Down Your Pre-Travel Planning

I love planning for my trips.  I find it as fun as interesting as the trip itself.  I’m sure I’m not the only one who spends countless hours on the internet looking for information on getting the best deals, travel hacking, and more.

Well, earlier this week, a new eBook covering the planning aspects of travel surfaced into the blogosphere –well, a pre-travel eBook in this case.  I’m talking about AsWeTravel’s The Pre:Travel Guide.  Ever since I first heard Nathan and Sofia of AsWeTravel were putting together all their experiences into an eBook, I became curious of how it would compare to the thousand of pages of travel and round the world (RTW) information on the internet.  Earlier this week I had the chance to get a review copy, so here’s my take on it.

First of all I want to congratulate Nathan and Sofia on their successful launch of The Pre:Travel Guide.  Kudos for your great work.  It follows the same quality of content they are used to publish on their site.

Now… What is it about?

The Pre:Travel GuideThe Pre:Travel Guide is an eBook designed to give you the best step-by-step advice so you can prepare every detail of your next trip with confidence and on budget.  It has 100+ pages packed with RTW travel content that covers a wide range of topics that are encountered on the planning process of every trip (some are listed below, see more on their page).

This book is the result of Nathan and Sofia’s first backpacking trip around the world.  For 8 months they traveled through Oceania, South East Asia, and Europe.  Now, they have compiled their experience, research, tips, and even mistakes (for your benefit) into this highly informative eBook.

What does it cover?

This is a complete guide that will help you through every step in the planning process of your trip –everything from that first idea that inspired you to travel, including every step in between all the way to the first month on the road.

Topics include:

  • The fundamental travel principles,
  • Demo country routes with estimated living costs in Europe, South East Asia & Oceania.
  • How to save money fast for your trip
  • Everything about packing for your RTW and how to select your backpack.
  • Comparison between different types of round the world flight options
  • Everything on getting cheap flights, transportation, and accommodation
  • How to avoid scams and crime while on the road
  • How to stay healthy when traveling
  • Travel insurance and Visa information
  • Among others…

Who is it for?

While people who hasn’t done a RTW trip are the ones that benefit the most from it, this eBook is a good tool for any traveler who wish to have the whole “travel picture” in a single package, even experienced ones.  Clearly, like the title says, this is a pre-travel guide; so, if you don’t like the planning process of your trips, then this is not for you.

What is the biggest benefit you get from it?

The Pre:Travel GuideWhile I admit that some of its information can be found on the web, The Pre:Travel Guide it’s all about cutting the fat –giving you exactly what you need to know without wasting your time.  It provides all the information “distilled”, not to mention all the Google hours it will save you.  For me, that’s one of the biggest benefits of this eBook.

Another benefit, among others, is their step-by-step approach in which they deliver their content; which guides you through all the planning process until your first month on the road.

Plus, the book contains a well-designed layout (see a sample page on their site) full of inspirational pictures that parallel its content.

Is it worth it?

In my personal opinion, yes!  I am an experienced traveler and even I learned a couple things while reading it.  It contains so much useful and targeted information that I truly believe it is a helping guide for planning your RTW trip.

I consider this eBook to be well worth its price tag of $9.95 (this price is promotional for a limited time only).  Just consider all the search hours it will save you and what you consider is your value of time… do the math, it says it all.  If you’re not satisfied with their eBook, they even have a 30 days guaranteed.

Nathan and Sofia of AsWeTravel truly show you how to prepare for your RTW trip with The Pre:Travel Guide.  Are you prepared?

      Thanks Mary –

The book covers most of the things you need to take care for your RTW trip planning. I honestly think the biggest benefit this book has is the fact that it condenses so much information into a single place, saving you hours of search. Of course, as with every good book, this is not the only source of info. They also link and recommend other places where you can expand your search and planning.

I honestly recommend you take a look at Nathan and Sofia’s site AsWeTravel.com. They have tons of information about RTW and general travel/destination tips…
