HotelCalculator.com Review

I was recently asked to check out and review the hotel search engine Hotel Calculator. HotelCalculator.com is one of the first online hotel comparison engine that checks and compares hotel deals available on over 20 travel and hotel websites from all over the world.

Why use Hotel Calculator?

I found Hotel Calculator to be a pretty good tool to save time when searching for that ideal hotel, hostel, bed & breakfast, apartment, or guesthouse.  Hotelcalculator.com checks multiple websites like HotelClub.com, Hotels.com, Booking.com, etc., giving you a comprehensive result of the best hotel deals found on the internet.  You no longer need to search on different booking agencies since Hotel Calculator does it for you.  Plus, it’s free!

Sites Searched by HotelCalculator.com

.

When it finds a hotel deal, it tells you in which page it was found (or various pages), at what price it is on each page, and it gives you the opportunity to book it through any of those particular sites.

The search process is pretty simple and straightforward, but very flexible. Simply put your destination, dates, and number of guests, hit the search button, and your results will pop in a matter of a few seconds.

You can also filter and customize your results by price, city, neighborhood, type of accommodation, number of stars, amenities, and more.

For budget travelers too…

Don’t let the word Hotel put you off from using this site.  You can find pretty cheap hostels at the same price of what you find at popular hostel search engines.

There’s an iPhone app too…

hotel calculatorThis app is easy to use and has a pretty clean interface.  It shows the same results and has most of the filter options as the main site has.  You can also conveniently book your accommodation through your iPhone when on the road.  It also has the map view of the search results, letting you know how far or close are the hotels of your interest.

Anything I didn’t like?

While the site is a great tool when it comes to find the cheapest price possible in a single search, I found that the destination database has some limits.  I searched a couple destinations with some significant results, but there were others that gave no results at all (and that I’m well aware they have many hotels available  – like Puerto Rico).

If the destination is not in their “auto complete” menu, you will not have an accurate result; so keep that in mind.  But if your destination is available, then this tool is definitely worth using.

They should work on this small issue to improve the possibilities of finding a good deal anywhere in the world.

Final verdict…

I find this site very convenient since it makes the accommodation search more thorough but less time consuming, since it does the one-by-one checking of several websites for you – for free.

I recommend using this search engine as a starting point, since the results are pretty impressive, but if you’re not satisfied with your results for any reason, take your search a step further by checking the different sites by yourself and by comparing your findings.

Check out Hotel Calculator website and download their iPhone App.

Thank you for the review on this product. My husband and I are always looking for easier ways to find deals on travel and sometimes the pain of having to use several different travel sites to compare prices is so annoying.

Hey Wanderlass. They paid before the post went live. I normally ask for it to be done that way.
