Are you planning a trip to Las Vegas and wondering what it’s like? Las Vegas is an adult playground with 24-hour gambling, fabulous restaurants, many shops, fabulous shows, lots of attractions, and very interesting architecture. It’s a lot of fun and can be overwhelming. If you’re not a gambler, that’s okay. There’s so much to see and do in Las Vegas that you don’t have to visit the casinos at all.
Getting to Las Vegas is easy because there are daily Las Vegas flights from anywhere to this hot spot. It doesn’t matter where you live, you’ll be able to find flights that will land you in Sin City.
The first thing you should know about Las Vegas is that you’ll be doing a lot of walking. Wear comfortable shoes and leave those 6-inch heels at home. As you hustle and bustle with everyone else, you’ll want to make sure your feet are comfortable.
Of course, there are other ways of getting around Las Vegas as you can take a taxi or walk to wherever you’re going. There’s also a monorail that serves a limited section of Las Vegas. Many hotels offer free shuttle service to various shopping centers or events. After you check-in, ask one of the staff members what they offer and the times of departure. This will save you time and money and you can leave the driving to someone else.
You definitely won’t go hungry in Las Vegas because all the hotels have at least four restaurants and several bars. There are inexpensive places as well as very expensive places to eat. You may want to bring one dressy outfit or suit and tie for a nice dinner at one of the expensive restaurants. Most restaurants are pretty casual or business casual but there are a few that require a suit and tie.

While you’re flying to Las Vegas, you can think about things to explore while you’re there. There are a wide variety of free attractions that you may want to visit. At the Silverton Hotel there’s a huge 117,000 gallon aquarium that you can view for free; the Bellagio Hotel has a wonderful conservatory with an elegant arrangement of plants and flowers; the MGM Grand Hotel has a Lion Habitat that you can walk under to view the lions; and the Fremont Street Experience is a very popular attraction as a mega sound system plays music while people dance in the street. Probably the best free attraction is the Fountains at the Bellagio as they dance and sway to music.
And then there are the shows, which are fantastic. You’ll find a wide variety of shows in Las Vegas including magicians, animal acts, singers, dancers, burlesque, and don’t forget the very popular Cirque du Soleil acts. If you don’t like gambling, have a nice dinner and attend one of the fabulous shows. It’s a great way to experience Las Vegas.
Wherever you live, there’s always flight offers to Las Vegas because of its popularity. Las Vegas is an adventurous vacation with so many things to do that you won’t be bored.

Maybe I am one of the few that doesn’t find Las Vegas appealing at all. All the glitz, glam, and lights just aren’t me. I don’t gamble at all and don’t really drink that much. I would enjoy all of the walking though. Honestly, I don’t think I will ever visit Las Vegas because there is nothing about it that appeals to me. On the positive side, this is a great introduction to the city for those that are interested!
I haven’t visited Las Vegas either for the exact same reasons you have; don’t gamble, and don’t drink that much either. It is not on top of my list of places to visit, but I would love to go there eventually because they have some amazing shows and there are a few good “outdoorsy escapades” near the city.
I’m with ya Jeremy. I grew up there and can’t STAND it! But Norbert, you are correct, there are some fantastic outdoorsy escapades to be found nearby. It’s the one redeeming quality. That and Cirque du Soleil…
Cirque du Soleil’s show in Las Vegas is a show I’m really looking forward to see whenever I have the chance to visit.
Something about the rampant fakeness of Vegas we like in small doses. However, much prefer the old, kinda funky downtown casinoes to the faux fabulous strip. Shouldn’t miss a visit down to the “real” Vegas.

I’m looking forward to experience the “real” Las Vegas!
This makes me want to go to LAS VEGAS.
I want to go too! Would love to see the shows!
